Favorite Spaces is an organization company that designs and installs custom storage solutions, and/or offers organization services for existing spaces. John Favorite, President, works as general manager and he oversees every installation for the company. He personally trains and oversees each crew member sent to a job site. Marti Favorite, Vice President, is a Space Planner and Professional Organizer. She designs spaces to better utilize storage, and helps customers develop a system of organization. Both are extremely active in their company and enjoy being on the front lines of all decision making.

Work History

John Favorite worked as an Engineer for DeVilbiss Air Power Co., a subsidiary of Pentair Corp., from 1997-2004. John worked closely with staff and production supervisors to identify areas of waste. His organization of the manufacturing process saved DeVilbiss an estimated $790K annually. John was in charge of working with personnel to train operators in order to maximize efficiency. By overseeing design and installation of equipment, his trained eye and keen ability to cut out waste was instrumental in delivering a 10-20% plant wide productivity gain for 4 consecutive years.

John worked as a Project Design Engineer for Harvey Engineering in Little Rock, AR from 1994-1997. John was Head Engineer in a sawmill construction project in Russia, making building designs and equipment layouts. He also worked as Plant Engineer for a sawmill company in Arkansas where he created drawings for construction and installation of equipment for plant expansion.

Marti Favorite worked as Communications Coordinator and Webmaster for contemporary Christian music artist FFH from 2000-2005. Once Marti and John began having children, Marti became a stay at home mother to give the love and attention her young children would need. She did, however, continue to work a part time in-home job for Contemporary Christian Group, FFH. Her work for FFH entailed managing their online store – including e-mail promotions, ordering and shipping merchandise; answering fan e-mails and snail mail; publishing a quarterly newsletter; and managing the content of their website. As a mother of four and responsible party for FFH’s merchandise, Marti had to not only have a strictly organized schedule, but also had to make the best use of her space (for both children and merchandise).

1994-1998 Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Baptist Health, Little Rock, AR. Marti worked in a hospital laboratory performing diagnostic testing primarily in the departments of Blood Bank, Hematology, and Coagulation.

Background

Both John and Marti grew up in Hot Springs. John, son of Dusty and Joan Favorite, attended Lakeside High School until 1986. He was actively involved in school sports and attended St. John Catholic Church.
Marti, daughter of John and Brenda Johnson, was a 1988 graduate of Lake Hamilton High School. She participated in honors programs and was an active member of the Park Place Baptist youth group.
The two married in 1990 and now share 4 children together: Dustin, Cassidy, Benjamin and Joshua. The Favorite family is elated to have the opportunity to move back to their home town and give back to the people and institutions that put them in the positions to make them who they are today.
Since moving back to Hot Springs in July of 2004, the family has integrated themselves back into Hot Springs living by enjoying the solace of their family and building new relationships at their church, Lake Valley Community Church.
